Poetry from Virginia Laurie

Aloe vera

She comes in like aloe
on fried cheeks, all the
sand behind my ear finally
rinsed away, she is all
flowing, pebbles in shoe
unstuck, all the air, mint,
unstuck.

We take care of each other
for free.
